I object to the third. But it is true that where I used to live, Gainesville, Florida, there are two cults: the Hare Krishnas and the University of Florida Gators. And the second one is much more fanatically religious than the first.
Football is a religion all through the South. I grew up in Texas, where I was tarred and feathered and run out on a rail for suggesting otherwise. But I was younger then, idealistic and naive.
